‘This is the truth we depend on them’ – Ancelotti reveals the two players he’s depending on ahead of Chelsea clash

It’s Real Madrid who hold the advantage heading to the second leg of the Champions League quarter-final clash at the Santiago Bernabeu after beating Chelsea 3-1 at Stamford Bridge last Wednesday.

However, Karim Benzema scored a hat-trick to give Madrid the win, and the France international has been their best player ever since Cristiano Ronaldo left the club.

The 34-year-old has scored 24 goals and assisted 11 in 27 La Liga games for Real Madrid this season, and he has bagged 11 goals in 8 Champions League games this season.

Now, speaking ahead of the second leg clash, Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has admitted that there’s no point denying that they are reliant on Benzema.

The Italian said: “This season there are two strikers who have stood out a lot, Vinicius and Benzema.

“In the past we had Cristiano and Bale. To say that we depend on Benzema is the truth, there is no need to hide it. I am very happy to depend on Benzema.”
