Todd Boehly set to make ‘another shock bid’ to bring 344-goals star to Stamford Bridge

Todd Boehly set to make ‘another shock bid’ to bring 344-goals star to Stamford Bridge

According to CBS writer Ben Jacobs, Chelsea owner Todd Boehly may launch a bold move to sign Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich.

After Raheem Sterling signing, a £25 million-rated striker who is on the market, was the American’s most recent acquisition at the club, but he’s eager to add more players before the window shuts.

Chelsea reportedly wants to sabotage Barcelona’s pursuit of the seasoned forward, who has scored  an amazing 344 goals in his eight years at the Allianz Arena.

However, the 33-year-old has only one year left on his contract with the defending Bundesliga winners and has publicly stated his desire to quit the organization.

Lewandowski’s preferred move appears to be to the Nou Camp, since the Catalan giants recently made a bid to sign him.

Lewandowski is, according to the Mirror, also open to moving to Stamford Bridge, where Thomas Tuchel is reportedly scrambling to improve his striker options in light of Romelu Lukaku’s return to Inter Milan.

Jacobs wouldn’t be too shocked if Boehly made an offer to move him to west London as a result.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “Chelsea will be wary of another ‘Raphinha repeat’ where they agree a fee only to find Lewandowski still waiting for Barcelona.

It wouldn’t surprise me, though, if Boehly proceeds, if we see another quick bid, with cash upfront involved, to try and price Barcelona out of the market.”
