However, The Netherlands international favors a move to Chelsea over Manchester United, who were the early favorites to land him.
Gerard Romero, a Spanish transfer specialist, predicted that Chelsea will make a strong bid for de Jong this summer.
According to him, the Blues will spend “whatever it takes” to get the Barcelona midfielder.
De Jong’s exit from Barcelona “is imminent,” according to Romero’s earlier reports.
Barca reportedly wants more than €80 million for De Jong.
Meanwhile, Spanish media outlet Mundo Deportivo, claim that De Jong would be open to a move to Stamford Bridge but only if he can’t remain at Barca.
