According to Daily Mail, Chelsea reportedly continue to push for Manchester City’s John Stones – even if they complete a £40million deal for Lewis Dunk.

Frank Lampard is working on a complete restructure of his defence this summer after his side conceded 54 goals – more than any other team in the top half of the Premier League.

However, Chelsea are leading Tottenham in the race to sign Brighton’s Dunk but the Mirror claim they will still look to bring in Stones as well.

According to reports, the Blues may be able to secure a cut-price deal for Stones, who has fallen out of favour at Manchester City but could also explore the possibility of loaning him.

Stones has reportedly been set a value in the region of £20m but Chelsea may prefer a loan offer with Dunk set to cost them double that.

Meanwhile, Brighton do not want to lose their 28-year-old captain but the move looks increasingly likely to happen over the next couple of weeks.

Dunk has been a consistent performer in the Premier League for the past three seasons and made his first appearance for England in 2018, and it will definitely be a good signing for the Blues.
