8AM: Chelsea morning headlines Blues agree £85m deal as Marina close in on Oblak signing.

According to reports from Germany, Chelsea have now agreed an £85million fee for Bayer Leverkusen star Kai Havertz, and an announcement could be imminent. It is no secret in the media that Chelsea are very keen to try and secure a transfer deal for Havertz and have been backed to complete a deal for the German star for months now.

But now it seems that a deal is on the verge of being announced, as Chelsea have reportedly now agreed a massive £85 million deal with the German outfit, much more than the £70 million Chelsea were hoping to pay, with reports that an announcement is also on its way.

The Byline podcast host said to Jan Age Fjortoft: “People know I speak to contacts and hear things. “So if I was to tell you Chelsea have agreed an £85m fee to sign Kai Havertz, £60m up front and it is now about how it’s structured, would that be realistic?”

Atletico Madrid are reportedly on the verge of signing a new goalkeeper – fuelling speculation that Chelsea target Jan Oblak could leave the club this summer.

Frank Lampard needs to improve on and that is the stopper area, as reports suggested that he is not happy with Kepa and will look to add an elite goalkeeper to the squad this summer.

He is not happy with the performances of Kepa, who has not progressed since his move to Stamford Bridge, and wants the club to fund a move for a stopper like Oblak, who is regarded as one of the very best in the game.

However, despite the reports that Madrid had no intention of letting the player leave, it seems that they are preparing for the possible departure of Oblak this summer window by lining up his possible replacement. Sportske Novosti claim that Diego Simeone’s side are on the verge of signing Ivo Grbic from Lokomotiva Zagreb for around £5.4million, meaning that the right offer could tempt Madrid into letting Oblak leave to Chelsea.
