Tuchel decision made as boss wants Chelsea to open contract talks with Italian midfielder

Chelsea are set to open talks with midfielder Jorginho about a new contract at the club.

Jorginho was signed by Sarri just a few years ago to be the man that helps control the game for Chelsea, and since his move to Stamford Bridge he has become a firm fans favourite and a real top-class players for the club.

However, since his move to the club, there has been constant speculation in the media that he will be sold, that he is not a valuable member of the Chelsea side and is one player that former boss Frank Lampard would not miss if he opted to leave.

Jorginho was hit and miss during his time under Lampard, and was constantly in and out of the side as the club legend struggled to find his best side in the Premier League, which ultimately led to many bad performances, and ultimately his sacking.

But since the arrival of Thomas Tuchel to the club, it seems that Jorginho has found his feet once again and has been putting in some very good performances for his new German boss, with the club now on a three match unbeaten run.

Now, reports circling the media have suggested that Tuchel would like to make sure that the future of Jorginho is put to bed once and for all, and he would like the club to open talks about getting the midfielder all signed up again.

The constant speculation about players leaving the club was a big reason why he decided to have it out with the PSG board last season, just before he got the sack, and he does not want that to effect his current squad.

If the reports are true and Chelsea will open talks with Jorginho about a new contract, it is a decent move as he is a very good squad player. But does he really offer the side the type of quality that the club need in the middle of the pitch?
