Tuchel makes transfer decision on signing Bayern Munich defender as he wants £400,000-a-week contract

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is keen on strengthening his Chelsea defence during the summer transfer window.

Bayern Munich defender David Alaba, who will become a free agent at the end of the season, is one of Chelsea’s transfer targets for the summer.

According to ESPN via Metro, Chelsea have declined the chance to sign David Alaba due to his excessive wage demands.

Bayern offered Alaba wages of around £250,000-a-week to extend his stay at the German club but the defender feels he can earn more elsewhere and has requested a £400,000-a-week contract from Chelsea.

N’Golo Kante is Chelsea’s current top earner on around £295,000-a-week and the report claim Chelsea aren’t willing to smash our current wage structure.

It is believed Chelsea’s stance on Alaba will see the Austrian international join Real Madrid.
