Tuchel ‘really wants to sign’ £43m star as Chelsea start working to complete another signing

Presnel Kimpembe is a defender for PSG who Chelsea genuinely wants to buy this summer, according to Dean Jones, a journalist for the Blues.

Ted Boehly understood that in order to retain the supporters on his side and close the gap with Man City and Liverpool, he would need to make some significant financial commitments. Therefore, a big player had to be recruited.

However, Raheem Sterling was the first player the American signed, and Kalidou Koulibaly is the second player to join the club after it took Chelsea some time to complete their transfer transaction.

Now, it appears that Thomas Tuchel is set to sign a player who he truly admires, according to rumours that Chelsea and PSG are currently in negotiations to sign Kimpembe.

And supporters have been informed that Chelsea “truly” wants to sign” the PSG defender during this transfer window, with reports claiming that the Blues might seal a deal for over £43 million.

Speaking to GMS, the transfer insider said: “Kimpembe is a guy that they really, really want. At the moment, they’re not convinced, wholly, that he wants to leave PSG, and you can understand that.”

Meanwhile, Kimpembe is entering that peak of his career and will only get better over the next couple of seasons – so the fact that his contract is running down will give Chelsea a boost in their chase to get him signed up

The signing of Koulibaly is world class and one that will improve that back-line – but if Chelsea manage to wrap up a deal for Kimpembe too – that will be a formidable partnership in the centre of that back-line

The Blues can send a real statement of intent with a couple more summer signings that is for sure
