Tuchel to make final decision as Boehly desperate to sign this ‘one statement’ signing for Chelsea

Cristiano Ronaldo will be signed by Chelsea if Thomas Tuchel has the final say.

The summer transfer window’s main attraction might be Cristiano Ronaldo moving to Chelsea, but the Blues are currently in a difficult position. Will they stick to their strategy, or do they need a headliner?

If the appropriate deal comes up, the 37-year-old has already informed Manchester United that he wants to go.

Although Ronaldo only joined United a year ago, his ambition to continue playing in Europe’s top club competition and United’s failure to qualify for the Champions League have caused a rift between the two parties that now appears to be irreparable.

Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly aggressively hunting for a new club this summer, according to multiple reports.

It is thought that a Ronaldo transfer has already been discussed when Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes spoke with Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly.

The Boehly-Clearlake administration, however, does not want to impose any unwelcome players on Tuchel, and according to The Guardian, Chelsea’s key man in the dugout will ultimately decide whether or not to pursue Ronaldo.

Romelu Lukaku was bought by Chelsea last season, but that deal backfired for a number of reasons, not the least of which was the Belgian’s inability to adjust to Tuchel’s high-pressing style. At 37, Ronaldo isn’t expected to improve his reputation for low pressing.

Should Tuchel approve Ronaldo’s upcoming move?

Ronaldo has a tremendous and almost amazing goal scoring record. He is fully equipped to provide an immediate solution to Chelsea’s offensive problems. He has great finishing ability, so maybe you may use him as a target man.

To shoehorn Ronaldo into the mold, though, might come at the cost of damaging Chelsea’s general style of play. Is Tuchel willing to take that chance?

Over the years, we’ve heard fans gripe about how the head coach doesn’t have a definite influence in the team’s hiring. Fans should trust Tuchel’s judgment now that he has the power to make the final decision because he is in the best position to do so.
