Tuchel wants Chelsea to hijack Arsenal €85m bid as Chelsea told to pay £45m to land defender

The departures of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen have already been confirmed by Thomas Tuchel but they may not be the last to leave. Cesar Azpilicueta, Marcos Alonso, Christian Pulisic, Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech have all been linked with moves away and it remains to be seen what the first-team squad will consist of once pre-season begins.

However, Incoming new Chelsea owner Todd Boehly’s early days are set to be dominated by transfer planning with a number of high-profile names reportedly targeted already.

Tuchel wants Raheem Sterling at Stamford Bridge

Chelsea were often found lacking a cutting edge last season as the gap between themselves and Manchester City grew wider but Tuchel is eager to solve that. The Blues have been linked with a move for Raheem Sterling and it is a deal that the manager would like to see get done.

Speaking on the London Is Blue podcast, Telegraph journalist Matt Law revealed that the German would like the Blues to complete a deal for the England international this summer. Arsenal are also reportedly interested which would no doubt make a successful bid all the sweeter.

Chelsea told to £45 million to land Marc Cucurella

One name on Chelsea’s radar as they look to bolster their back line is Brighton left-back Marc Cucurella. The Spaniard has impressed under Graham Potter at both left centre-back and left wing-back so it is easy to see why Tuchel would like to add him to his side.

But it is not a deal that will come cheap with The Sun reporting that it will cost around £45 million to complete a deal. Manchester City are also looking at the defender and Chelsea face an uphill battle to win the race.
