Tuchel wants him at Chelsea! as Chelsea open talks to sign PSG player

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is eager to sign a left-back due to Ben Chilwell’s long-term knee injury and wants Kurzawa after the Blues failed to bring back Emerson Palmieri from his loan spell at Lyon.

However, according to reports in France via Metro, Chelsea have opened talks with Paris Saint-Germain to sign Layvin Kurzawa on loan for the rest of the season.

The 29-year-old has played 153 games for PSG since joining from Monaco in 2015 but has fallen down the pecking order and has not made a single Ligue 1 appearances this season under Mauricio Pochettino.

Meanwhile, he was regular when Tuchel was in charge at PSG and he could reunite with Tuchel at Chelsea.

Chelsea are already holding talks with PSG over a loan move for the left-back and the French side are reportedly happy to let Kurzawa join Chelsea on loan for the rest of the season.

Furthermore, Michael Owen has defended Romelu Lukaku after his missed chance against Manchester City, insisting the Chelsea striker was denied due to a ‘very good save’ from Ederson.

“So early in the second half. It was a perfect run, perfect ball,” Owen told Premier League Productions.

“I actually thought when he’s running through he’s quite far out, I thought he was going to take a touch. But the goalkeeper makes his mind up for him.

“He runs out, stops on the edge of the box. You always know a goalkeeper most of the time isn’t going to come out of the box because he’s going to risk a handball. He runs as far as he can towards the box.

“I thought he [Lukaku] did everything right. I thought he had two options – open his body out and curl it into the far corner like he tried or give him the eyes and whip it into the near post.

“But Ederson made a fantastic save. I’d probably side with saying it was a very good save as opposed to a big miss.”
