UPDATED: Potter rules out four Chelsea players out of Crystal Palace clash

Four players have been excluded by Chelsea manager Graham Potter from the weekend match against Crystal Palace.

Potter has revealed that he would be without four players for Chelsea’s Saturday lunchtime game against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

According to Potter, the game has come too soon for Edouard Mendy and N’Golo Kante, who are both only making their comebacks from injuries.

“They’re not available,” reported Potter.

“They’re absolutely fine in terms of coming through the rehab stages. NG has been on the grass with the team, but not really full training.

“Edou is a bit further on, but hasn’t had enough to be involved at the weekend. Maybe next week for him.”

Potter also revealed that young midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka and also Marc Cucurella would miss the game through illness.

“We’ve got a bit of illness with Marc Cucurella and Carney,” added Potter.

“Apart from that, everybody is fit.”
