Vinicius sends classy message too Chelsea star after Real Madrid’s victory over Chelsea
Real Madrid winger Vinicius Jr gave Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen a torrid time.
However, For the game at the Santiago Bernabeu, Thomas Tuchel decided to plant Reece James on the Brazilian star, and it worked out very well, as James kept out Vinicius for much of the game.
Reece James took to his social media page today, as he poured out his emotions to the Chelsea fans.
James wrote: “A game full of emotions. We gave everything yesterday. Sometimes in life everything just isn’t enough. Thank you for all the support.”
Vinicius responded to James’ post: “Great game bro. Good luck.”
Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand hailed Reece James for a job well done, but also highlighted how one moment of quality can win a game at the top level.
“But it shows you, there’s these little details in these games at the top level that can really change things,” remarked Ferdinand on BT Sport while speaking on Madrid’s winning goal.
“I wasn’t even that he did wrong, they lost the ball in the transition, it was the only time in the game Reece James wasn’t in front of Vinicius. He had Vinicius locked down.
“Probably one of the most in form wingers in the world, he locked him down all game. One moment he wasn’t in front of him, he sets up the winner. Crazy.”
