‘Welcome back! as Chelsea confirms new shirt number for returned Chelsea player
According to latest reports, Chelsea recalled Kenedy from his loan spell at Brazilian club Flamengo during the January transfer window and the winger is set to spend the rest of the season at Chelsea.
Chelsea have confirmed Kenedy has been registered as part of our Premier League squad for the rest of the season.
Kenedy will wear the no.23 shirt which was last worn by Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi, who is currently on loan at Besiktas.
Meanwhile, Kenedy has revealed his surprise to be back in the Chelsea team, having last played for the club in 2017.
Kenedy said: “I was taken by surprise. I found out yesterday night around 11pm. Everything was very fast.
“Chelsea had a contract with Flamengo. They asked me to present myself and I’m presenting myself.
“It was Flamengo that told me. I’m just fulfilling the contract..”
