“What a U-turn” as winger wants to put pen to paper on two-year extension at Chelsea in coming weeks

Chelsea Winger pedro is allegedly hopeful that Chelsea will decide to offer him a new contract in the coming weeks.

The 32-year-old’s existing deal at Stamford Bridge is due to expire at the end of June, and a host of clubs, including Roma and Real Betis, are thought to be interested in Pedro’s services.

He recently admitted that he had not yet spoken to the management about the possibility of extending his stay, while an agreement is said to be unlikely at this stage as the Blues plan for the future. However, according to ESPN, the Spanish star is hoping ‘for a late change of heart’ from the PL outfit as he wants to extend his stay at Stamford Bridge.

Pedro reportedly wants a two-year contract, but Chelsea have a rule of only offering one-year extensions to stars over the age of 30, which is a policy that is expected to see the club lose Willian on a free transfer.

The former Barcelona forward has only scored twice in 18 games at club level this campaign. In other news, Chelsea allegedly view Borussia Dortmund forward Jadon Sancho as their ‘ultimate signing’ in the summer.

The 20-year-old has been mentioned with just about every major club in Europe following another stellar campaign at the Westfalenstadion, where he has directly contributed to 30 goals in just 23 league games.

Manchester United are said to be leading the race for his signature with Sancho rumoured to be interested in a return to England, but Chelsea have also been touted with an interest.

Football London report that Chelsea see the England international as an ideal transfer target, but accept that sealing a deal is unlikely in the post-coronavirus market.
