Why I don’t enjoy the position I played – Chelsea player reveals after Crystal Palace clash
Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen admitted after the game that he felt awkward playing as a right-back as he hasn’t played that role in a long time.
However, Christensen played as a right-back as Thomas Tuchel opted for a 4-1-4-1 against Crystal Palace on Saturday.
Injuries to Cesar Azpilicueta, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Reece James meant Tuchel had to made do with what he had.
Meanwhile, Christensen told Chelsea TV after playing as a right-back against Crystal Palace: “It’s been a while.”
“Not my ideal game, but we take it as it comes.
“I enjoy sometimes playing in a new position, but it’s definitely been a while and a bit awkward.
“And in a game like this where the wind takes a big part in long balls and all these stuff, it was difficult for me.
“But yeah, we fought our way, got the win, and that’s what we’re pleased with.”
