Why I regret leaving Chelsea – Mason Mount finally reveals

Mason Mount has endured a difficult first season at Manchester United.

Touted as the future captain of Chelsea, Mount made a surprise move to Chelsea rivals Manchester United last summer.

It hasn’t worked out for Mount in his first season at Old Trafford, however.

Mount has had an injury-ravaged season, with just five Premier League starts following his £60m move to Old Trafford.

It got worse for Mount at Manchester United, after he came on as a substitute in their 4-0 bashing away at Crystal Palace.

Ex-Chelsea midfielder Craig Burley believes Mount must be questioning why he left Chelsea and says his move to Manchester United has worked out ‘terribly’.

“Mason Mount, obviously he’s had an injury-ravaged season, but even when he’s been fit he looks like a guy who’s thinking, ‘oh my god, I’ve just made a big mistake,’” he told ESPN.

“Not that Chelsea are great, they’re not, of course they’re not. But as a player you make a decision and he thought he was going to a club that were on the front foot.

“Whilst he’s been poor himself and he’s been out for a while, he’s got to be thinking to himself, ‘I’ve made a terrible move here.’”

Chelsea are currently ahead of the Red Devils in the Premier League, and Mount will be wondering what took him there in the first place.
