Why Rudiger is feeling insecure – Tuchel reveals after 1-0 victory over West Ham

Tuchel has explained that Rudiger missed the game against West Ham because he was feeling insecure about his muscles.

However, The Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger has missed the last two games for the Blues due to injury.

The German international has been a mainstay in the Chelsea defence under Thomas Tuchel, as he has been the main man in Chelsea’s left side of the defence.

Tuchel is however hopeful that Rudiger will be back in training ahead of next week’s game with Manchester United.

“It is a groin in one leg and the other leg a bit the hamstring. He is somebody who plays through pain anyway and is totally used to it. It’s muscle pain, not even an injury but a huge discomfort. Tuchel said.

“He feels insecure because he’s not used to having muscle injuries. He feels like it could happen but he wants to come back. The plan is that he’s back in training on Tuesday for Thursday [against Man United] and hopefully we can stick to the plan.”

The German has admitted to his manager that he’d be leaving at the end of the season, and Tuchel has assured that Rudiger will give his best until his last game for the club – which is the FA Cup final against Liverpool.

Tuchel added: “He has no doubts and he made no doubts about it that he will play until the end of the season with everything he has.

“This is what did from day one and this is what he will do until the last minute, I’m 100 per cent sure of that.”
