Will Chelsea fans welcome striker after Italians confirm deal can get done for £97 million?

Inter Milan sporting director Piero Ausilio has told the likes of Chelsea they can sign Lautaro Martinez for £97 million, but would he be worth it?

Despite the Coronavirus putting a hold to the Premier League season and despite the fact that the transfer window is still months away, there has been alot of speculation in the media about possible arrivals to Stamford Bridge, with a striker on the agenda.

It is no secret that Frank Lampard is keen to improve this side with some big time signings, and reports in the media have suggested he will indeed get the £200 million it will take to sign some top-class, big-time names players in the summer, with a striker on the list

Lautaro Martinez is a name that has been on the lips of many Chelsea fans this season, as the powerful striker has impressed over in Serie A with Inter and is surely destined for a move away from the Italian Leagues.

Barcelona are reportedly leading the chase to sign the striker in the summer, as he is the Spaniards top transfer target and they are seeking to sell a number of players to try and finance a transfer deal.

However, if they are unable or unwilling to meet the asking price of Martinez, then Chelsea could swoop in and steal him from under the noses of Barcelona.

But he will not come cheap, as reports on the Sky Sports website has claimed that Inter will not lower their valuation of the man because of the coronavirus outbreak, and will demand that clubs pay the £97 million release clause that is in his contract.
