Willian finally clears up confusion over contract and whether he can finish the season with Chelsea

Confusion is rife all around the world right now off the back of the global Coronavirus pandemic, and football fans are speculating what will happen to the season.

Of course, nobody knows yet because we do not know the extent of how long this pandemic will last. But we know the first prediction of resuming the season on Arpil the 3rd has zero chance, and I am even hugely sceptical about UEFA’s claim to have the leagues finished by the end of June.

So what does this mean for players who’s contracts run out in June?

Well, Chelsea winger Willian is one of those players, and he believes that he will be allowed to finish the season with Chelsea regardless of when that is.

As reported by Sport Witness, Willian was asked whether he will be able to complete the season at Chelsea. He responded:

“I think so. My contract really ends, I think in July. And if I had to play on those dates, in these months, I think it would be no problem for me to end the league in a way which would be loyal to the club, as they always were with me. Regardless of a signed paper.

“But it’s clear that this is not a certainty, we don’t know what can happen. But without a doubt, as always, I will always be ready to give the best to my club regardless of my contract situation.”

And on his current contract situation, things have dried up there. He said:

“No, nothing new, No news. Especially after what’s happening, everything stopped. But so far no news about anything.”
