“I guarantee fans will be singing his name soon” – as Blues fans reacted to Chelsea player massive display in 2-0 win over Brentford
Despite Saul Niguez recent poor performances in recent games, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel still give the Spanish International some playing time in 2-0 win over Brentford last night.
However, Saul was signed from Atletico Madrid to bring competition in the middle of the park for Chelsea, but the 27-year-old has failed to live up to the billing. He struggled on his debut and struggled in every other game he had played until recently.
Well, Saul had a good game against Brentford in the League Cup clash on Wednesday night, and he also had good stats.
He completed 73 passes with a completion percentage of 91% — his best at the club since signing up for the Blues, and he earned the praises of his manager and the fans after the game.
Some Blues fans reacted to his massive performances last night:
@Bongani wrote: “Saul Niguez deserves to be given credit when he’s doing well.’
@chelsea_edit wrote: “Saul looked very smooth in last 2 games for sure.
@IbzSpeaks tweeted: “Saúl Ñíguez’s performance tonight is underrated tbh. Very good game from him.’
“Keep pushing man saulniguez.”
“Moving very well on the pitch. Good composure on the ball. Picking up good passes.
“May be all he needs is some game time to be a decent option.
Harry wrote: “Torrid few months at Chelsea, but he’s starting to look more like the player that has delivered for Atletico Madrid and Spain. Baby steps.”
Adam wrote: “I guarantee Chelsea fans will be singing & chanting Saul Niguez’s name by the end of the season. Top talent finding his feet again.”
@vintageCFC tweeted: “Saul’s performance tonight will go under the radar but he was great all game. tidy in possession, linked up well with Kova in 1st half and jorginho in the second half. Slowly finding his form.”
