‘A big tactical mistake from him’ – Fabregas pointed out a huge mistake Tuchel made that cost Chelsea defeat to Madrid

Chelsea suffered a 3-1 home defeat against Madrid in a Champions League quarter-final tie.

However, Karim Benzema scored two first-half headers for the visitors at Stamford Bridge to put them in the driving seat. Kai Havertz did pull a goal back before half time with his own header, though.

But, unfortunately, Benzema was allowed to complete his hat-trick almost immediately after half time after a mistake from goalkeeper Edouard Mendy gifted a simple finish.

However, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel dropped Kovacic to the bench for this game, with Tuchel preferring the duo of N’Golo Kante and Jorginho.

Well, this didn’t work out in the first half, and Kovacic was introduced at half-time. The Croatian star indeed changed the game for Chelsea, but an error from Edouard Mendy immediately after the restart killed the game for Chelsea.

Meanwhile, Ex- Chelsea player Cesc Fabregas pointed out a big tactical mistake from Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel during yesterday’s defeat to Real Madrid.

The former Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas saw the need for Kovacic to play this game, and tweeted so barely 30 minutes into the match.

Well, Kovacic had earned the praises of his manager before the game even though he didn’t start.
