‘A real driving force for Chelsea, but a nuisance to play against with’ — Martin Keown says of Chelsea player
Following Chelsea’s 3-2 victory against Leeds, Arsenal legend Martin Keown has hailed Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger as a driving force in the Chelsea team.
The German man has been a beast at the back for Chelsea since the arrival of Thomas Tuchel, and the German has won the hearts of the Chelsea fans with his passion on the pitch.
Keown has now hailed Rudiger as a very tough and aggressive player, and likens the German to himself during his playing days.
Keown told BBC’s Match of the Day: “He’s a real driving force for Chelsea – I love watching him play.”
“I was an aggressive defender myself, but I think this guy takes it to another level.
“When he gets the ball, he likes to run forward. The fans love him there because he makes things happen.
“Defensively – he’s so aggressive. He just shuts the door. So aggressive, strong, and he really leads from the back.
“He’s a nuisance to play against and he’s been outstanding for them.”
