Chelsea could sell highly-rated Belgian midfielder in January

Chelsea’s Charly Musonda is finally getting ready to train again, the latest reports from the Belgian media say.

Outlet Het Laatste Nieuws is the one stating that the player is soon joining the Blues’ roster and have group practices after sixteen months of recovery.

They add that the 24-year-old must prove the club he is fit to play, and that means they will not let him leave on a loan spell in the January market.

Charly is expected to first show his form for the Blues’ U-23 squad, and only then think of having any chances for the senior team.

He has been struggling with knee injuries for seasons now and went through surgery in the summer of 2019.

HLN says the doctors claimed he could only have 20 percent chance of playing professionally again.

His current deal with Chelsea only expires in June 2022, so there is still some time left for him to show he can be useful for the west Londoners or any other clubs who get interested in his services.

In other news, Chelsea-linked Declan Rice ‘stinks of a Manchester United signing’ following his latest performance for West Ham.

That is the opinion of Tony Cascarino, who thinks the England international is prepared to make the step up.

Lampard is desperate to sign the 21-year-old midfielder, who was released by Chelsea at the age of 14 but Tony was blown away by his display versus Leeds and believes he could end up at Old Trafford.

“Declan Rice was superb. He absolutely ran the show in midfield,” Tony said.

“He was up against Kalvin Phillips as well, who is a good player. I thought he just took the game by the scruff of the neck. “He just stunk of a Manchester United signing to me. I was sat there thinking, ‘Wow!’”
