Chelsea Legend Michael Ballack explains why he snubbed Man United for Chelsea

Chelsea legend Michael Ballack has explained why he snubbed a move to Manchester United when he left Bayern Munich in the summer of 2006.

However, Ballack opted to join Chelsea instead and he insists he has no regrets making the switch to Stamford Bridge.

“They [Man Utd] were a little bit better than us for my first three years, especially winning the Champions League,” the German told Sky Sports.

“It was a tight match and there was this [un]lucky moment when you slip [John Terry in the penalty shootout]. But this is football and it’s not something you can explain after, or say this is right and this is wrong.

“This is football. It’s really tight and making decisions these were decisions on a high level for me.

“The decision to go to Man United or Chelsea at 29 was not something I regret because [in hindsight] we wanted one title less or more.”
