Chelsea linked as world class defender could be heading to Premier League in two weeks

According to reports, Chelsea target David Alaba could join a Premier League side in the next two weeks, reports have claimed.

Frank Lampard knows that he needs to improve the side if he wants to get back inside the top four and then push on to challenge for a Premier League title and Champions League crown.

And one area of concern for the Blues is the defence, as it is not good enough to challenge the big boys in Europe, so Lampard is reportedly keen to sort that issues out with the possible signing of Alaba, who is regarded as one of the best left-backs in the game right now.

Alaba has 12 months left on his current deal with the German giants, but there has been a few issues with his contract talks and speculation has risen over the past few months that he is seeking a way out of the club after ten years of service with Bayern.

But Bayern have no intention of letting the player leave and have been hoping that they can tie him down to a new contract, and after a few months of talks, the Austria defender has rejected Bayern Munich’s initial offer to extend his contract.

And Sky Sports reports he could be on the move by the end of August, where Chelsea have been joined by Both Manchester clubs.

Losing Alaba will be a massive blow for Bayern as he is one of the very best in the game, but if Chelsea are looking to spend some serious money to try and land one of the very best players in his position, then this is the man.

Alaba has done it all and won it all, so if he is actually leaving Bayern, Chelsea would be massive fools to not make that move to try and snap the man up.
