Chelsea set to agree deal for Belgian forward this summer

The Blues are reportedly planning to cash in on forward Michy Batshuayi when the transfer window will be re-opened in the summer.

Since moving to the Blues back in 2016, Batshuayi has never been regarded as the first choice, as he has scored eight goals in 43 substitute appearances and five starts.

Although the Belgium international forward has remained a part of Frank Lampard’s squad this campaign, the 26-year-old has scored only one goal in all competitions since October 30.

Aware that Batshuayi has one year left on his current deal at Stamford Bridge, HLN reports that West Ham United are keen to do a deal with their London rivals.

However, given the financial implications of the coronavirus pandemic, the report claims that the Blues must be willing to lower their £40m price tag on his head.

While contracted to the West London club, Batshuayi has also spent loan periods at German giants, Borussia Dortmund, Valencia and Crystal Palace respectively, founding back of the net 18 times from 50 appearences.

Batshuayi currently earns £90,000 per week at Stamford Bridge and hosts of teams are eyeing a move for his signature including PL rivals Everton, Wolves and Leicester City.
