Timo Werner’s admission which is fantastic news for Chelsea

If Chelsea must win the Premier League again, the Blues must do so with a striker in top form. The five times the Blues have won the Premier League, Chelsea did so with two beasts of a striker in Didier Drogba and Diego Costa.

Chelsea have been linked with a new striker ahead of next season, and while Tammy Abraham had done a good job so far, the Blues still need competition in that department.

Timo Werner is one striker that has strongly been linked with a move to Chelsea. But it isn’t just the Blues who have shown interest in the RB Leipzig striker, as Liverpool and Bayern Munich have also been linked.

However, Werner has declared he prefers a transfer to another league after confirming he does not intend to join Bayern Munich, thus revealing that he favours a move to the Premier League.

Speaking to Bild, Werner said: “A challenge in a foreign league would appeal to me rather than a move to Bayern.”

Werner has established himself as one of the deadliest target men in Europe, with 27 goals in all competitions for Leipzig this season, and Liverpool are believed to be the front-runners for his signature. However, Chelsea have shown over the years that they can hijack any deal. The Blues recently showed that with the signing of Hakim Ziyech, and the Blues also beat competition to sign Willian in 2013, and Eden Hazard in 2012.
