Chelsea to swap Emerson for Brazilian star, Defender to sign Chelsea contract, as Blues keen on to agree deal for former Man Utd forward

Chelsea to swap Emerson for Brazilian star

Chelsea could welcome the prospect of swapping Emerson for Juventus defender Alex Sandro this summer.

The Blues have operated with the wing-back system since the arrival of Thomas Tuchel as the manager in January.

Ben Chilwell and Marcos Alonso have got the regular nod over Emerson at left wing-back, and the Italian appears likely to leave.

According to Calciomercato, Juventus have a long-term interest in Emerson, and they will propose a swap deal involving Sandro.

Sandro has two year remaining on his contract unlike Emerson (June 2021), but the Bianconeri want to sell him to reduce their wage bill.

The Blues were first linked with Sandro more than four years ago, and they have continued to be associated with him.

The Brazilian is more defensively organised when compared to Alonso, and his arrival may pave the way for the latter’s exit.

Tuchel is a huge admirer of the former Porto man. He tried to sign him for Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2018.

Veteran star wants to extend Chelsea stay with a new contract

According to news from Metro, Thiago Silva wants to extend his stay with Chelsea by signing a new contract. The Brazilian expressed his desire to remain at the club after the Blues progressed to the Champions League quarter-finals.

The 36-year-old joined Chelsea this summer and despite his age, he has seamlessly adapted to the fast-paced nature of the Premier League. He has already played more than 20 games this season. However, he has missed a few games with injuries and Andreas Christensen took over in the interim.

Silva’s experience and leadership have been visible on the pitch and Chelsea look a far more secure side with him in the line-up. Chelsea have kept 9 league clean sheets in the 18 games he has played so far.

The former PSG man was on the sidelines with a hamstring issue but has since returned to action, starting against Porto. He has a one-year extension in his contract, which can be triggered by a mutual agreement. However, Silva spoke about his keenness to continue at the club.

‘I hope to continue like this. I want to continue to play at this level and get to the World Cup in 2022. Thomas Tuchel is doing an amazing job here at Chelsea.’

It is definitely good news that Silva is willing to extend his stay with the club. While he isn’t exactly a long-term option, his presence for another season could allow Chelsea to funnel transfer funds to other areas of requirement.

Blues keen on to agree deal for former Man Utd forward

Chelsea are reportedly firmly interested in securing the services of Inter Milan forward Romelu Lukaku in the summer.

The 27-year-old has been in fine form for Inter Milan during the 2020-21 season, scoring 26 goals in 35 games in all competitions, while he has netted 60 times in 86 appearances for the Serie A giants since arriving from Man Utd back in 2019.

A recent report suggested that Antonio Conte’s team had placed a €120m (£102m) price tag on the Belgium international forward amid talks that Man City and Chelsea both keen on to sign him

According to Calciomercato, the West London club are lining up a move for Romelu Lukaku as they consider alternatives to Borussia Dortmund’s centre-forward Erling Braut Haaland, who is believed to be a transfer target for a number of leading European clubs.

The ex-Anderlecht starlet initially represented the West London club between 2011 and 2014 however, turned out for the team just 15 times in all competitions before moving on.

Lukaku’s current contract at San Siro is set to run until the summer of 2024 and it seems unlikely from Chelsea to break the bank and lure him at Stamford Bridge while the Timro Werner has been their main forward.
