Confirmed: Box-to-box midfielder signs with Chelsea to celebrate his birthday

Leo Castledine, a gifted box-to-box midfielder for Premier League team Chelsea, has agreed to a new contract with the club, according to a statement on the team’s official website.

However, Today, Castledine, who is 17 years old, signs his first professional contract with Chelsea in honor of his birthday.

He joined Chelsea at the U15 level from AFC Wimbledon and is an England young international who has played for the Young Lions at the U15, U16, and U17 levels.

Castledine played for the Blues last season in the UEFA Youth League, U18 Premier League, and FA Youth Cup, appearing in thirty-two games and scoring ten goals.

Tudor Mendel-Idowu, Richard Olise, and Louis Flower, all of whom qualified for scholarships from Nigeria, were in the same scholarship intake as him.

The midfielder led the Chelsea U18 team on multiple occasions last season and scored the game-winning goal on the opening day of the 2022-2023 season as the Blues U18s defeated London rivals Arsenal.
