Finally, Giroud explains why he had to push Jorginho away for his goal celebration

Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud scored the only goal of the game as Chelsea beat Norwich City 1-0 at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night.

Giroud scored on the stroke of half-time to hand Chelsea a well deserved victory, as the Blues edge closer to a Champions League finish.

To celebrate his goal, Jorginho ran towards Giroud but the Frenchman pushed the Italian away, and he has now explained why.

Giroud mimed rhyming on a notepad – and explained the reasoning behind the celebration after the match. According to Giroud, his celebration was targeted at Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante, whom he plays Scrabble with.

“I play Scrabble with N’Golo Kante. I was aiming it at him,” he told Sky Sports.

Giroud also Giroud admitted his side were under pressure, but are pleased to have all three points.

He said: “We definitely needed to be patient, to play our game and to move the ball quick against a team who play with a deep block. We created a lot of chances but it was important to score before half-time.

“We were very pleased with that. We should have scored more goals, we had a lot of possession, but I think the team was a bit under pressure because we needed that win.”
