“He loves the club, bring him back to the bridge”- Abramovich told to sign 24goals a season player

Former Chelsea defender Frank Leboeuf has urged the club to sign back Romelu Lukaku.

The Belgian was signed as an 18-year-old wonderkid from Anderlecht, and was touted as the next Didier Drogba. He was eventually sold after two spells away on loan.

Now 28, Lukaku is one of the best strikers in the world at the moment, and his 24 league goals in the 2020/21 campaign helped Inter Milan win their first ever Serie A title in 11 years.

Leboeuf believes Lukaku is now the man for Chelsea, and has backed his second spell at the club to be a success.

And when asked whether it makes sense to bring Lukaku back to Stamford Bridge, ex-Blues defender Leboeuf told ESPN FC: “It does, because Lukaku is an exceptional player and he proved it this season with Inter.

“We all know he loves Chelsea football club so much. It was a dream for him to sign for the club when he was young.

“Maybe it’s a curse for him, because he’s too emotional so he can’t be successful at Chelsea.

“But he might come back for the third time and prove me wrong. I wish him the best if he does it.

“He is one of the biggest talents in the world and he will prove it in the Premier League.

“I’m sure he can serve Chelsea. We all know Chelsea have a problem to finish their actions and score goals.

“He can be a plus for Chelsea for sure.”
