“He throw the game away, unforgivable” – Tottenham fans blasts Conte for what he did against Chelsea

The Blues progressed to the final of the Carabao Cup after beating Tottenham Hotspur 3-0 on aggregate.

However, Tottenham Hotspur fans were unhappy with Antonio Conte’s team selection for Wednesday night’s 1-0 Carabao Cup defeat to Chelsea.

Tottenham Hotspur fans were unhappy with Conte’s decision to start Pierluigi Gollini in goal against Chelsea and believe Hugo Lloris should have started instead.

@adamdnathan tweeted: “Gollini, Doherty, Tanganga and Hojbjerg are unforgivable selections.”

@lukeherbert tweeted: “Gollini, Doherty, Tanganga and Hojbjerg are unforgivable selections.”

@xDuoMax1993 tweeted: “Gollini starts in goal then tonight, I don’t even dislike the bloke, just can’t understand why Lloris wouldn’t be in goal tonight.”

@FromRoy tweeted: “Why play Gollini for Spurs vs Chelsea this evening. Based on the first leg, compared to Lloris he’s flat footed and won’t get airborne in stretching for the ball.”

@chrisCOYS_ tweeted: “Gollini is the worst keeper I have seen for spurs. Mr flappy hands doesn’t dive will have a howler.”

@NathCOYS tweeted: “Conte throwing the game starting Doherty and Gollini, embarrassing.”

Meanwhile, Conte admitted after the game that Chelsea deserved to progress to the Carabao Cup final.

Conte, speaking to Sky Sports, says: “At the end of the two games Chelsea deserved to reach the final in this competition, we have to be honest.

“In the second half we created many chances to score and we deserved a result better than losing 1-0 but if you have a judgement over the two games Chelsea deserved to win.”
