He’s close to joining Chelsea – £85m player hints on Chelsea move
Wesley Fofana is a defender for Leicester City, and Chelsea has previously had two offers for him rejected.
Chelsea is thought to have submitted a third offer that Leicester City would accept for around around £80 million.
Fofana has made a suggestion that he will sign with Chelsea this summer.
According to reports, Chelsea and Fofana have reached a personal transfer agreement.
After Saturday’s 4-2 loss to Arsenal for Leicester City, Fofana went over to the Foxes supporters on his own and gave them a cheer that appeared to be a farewell, while his teammates were at a different part of the field conversing and exchanging shirts.
Meanwhile, Brendan Rodgers has urged Fofana to spend at least one more season at Leicester City before leaving.
Asked about bids for Fofana at a press conference on Thursday, Rodgers said: “There was two, but nowhere near what the club would consider.
“We’re not looking to sell. Naturally if there’s interest from other clubs, that is looked at by the club. He’s a top young defender and there are not too many around his age.”
“Another year for him at least would be really important for his development,” Rodgers added.
“Wesley is quite calm on the situation. He is aware of the interest. He’s just getting on with his work.”
I’ll leave others to speculate on what this might mean but – whilst all the other players are chatting, swapping shirts and embracing – Wesley Fofana has gone over to the Leicester fans on his own. pic.twitter.com/DZOMgekGkn
