Huge Blow for Lampard as Chelsea transfer target prefers Liverpool move

According to former Premier League striker Jan Aage Fjortoft, Chelsea transfer target Timo Werner prefers a move to Liverpool due to the pulling power of Jurgen Klopp.

Fjortoft told The Kopite Podcast: “The reason I started thinking it was very interesting, Timo Werner to Liverpool, is of course the connection Jurgen has got to Germany.

“We should never underestimate the pulling power of a manager.

“Of my standard, when Bryan Robson called me and he was the manager of Middlesbrough and I was at Swindon I said ‘yes’.

“And I remember that with Kenny Dalglish when he was at Blackburn and suddenly he got [Alan] Shearer and Chris Sutton, he got a lot of players going there.

“For us all money is important, but we also want to have fun, we also want to improve as players, and Dortmund and Liverpool and some great clubs have got the pulling power of their stadium, the atmosphere, the history.

“But, it’s also important the pulling power of the manager and for a German player to play for Jurgen Klopp, that is target number one, Timo Werner would love to do that.”
