I wish to finish my career at Chelsea – player reveals despite several offers from clubs

As we all know Cesar Azpilicueta’s Chelsea contract expires at the end of the season and the Blues are yet to hand him a new contract.

However, according to The Athletic via Daily Mail, Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta wants to finish his career at Stamford Bridge despite interest from Spanish side Barcelona.

Barcelona boss Xavi is reportedly interested in signing Azpilicueta as a free agent at the end of the season but Azpilicueta hopes to continue at Chelsea beyond this season.

Since joining Chelsea in 2012, the Spaniard has made 455 appearances, helping the Blues win two Premier League titles and the Champions League last season.

Azpilicueta told Chelsea’s official website earlier this month: “As I always said, I feel I have the trust and confidence of the club and now I am focused on every game.”

“They are very tough games, and I am enjoying the moment. Eventually the moment will come, but I am fully focused on hopefully getting as many trophies as we can and then we will see.

“I cannot say anything more than that I am really committed and have a lot of things ahead in the coming months and hopefully we can have a very good season.”
