According to stats, the Blues have a really poor record when Taylor is the referee compared to other big six clubs.

However, Referee Anthony Taylor ruined what was an entertaining encounter at Anfield after controversially sending off Reece James just before half-time.

Taylor was born in Manchester and it’s not surprising to know Manchester United have the best win percentage when refereed by Taylor compared to other big six sides.

The Red Devils have won 25 out 35 games when officiated by Taylor, which is a 71% win ratio. Liverpool are next with 26 wins out of 45 games under Taylor which is a 58% win ratio. Chelsea have won just 18 and of 38 games which Taylor has refereed which is abysmal 47% win ratio, the lowest of all the big six clubs.

The Blues have lost 32% (12 out of 38) of our games when refereed by Taylor compared to Liverpool’s 20% (9 out of 45) and Manchester United’s 26% (9 out of 35) and Manchester City’s 23% (7 out of 30).

Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta criticised the referee for dishing out two yellow cards during the Reece James’ incident and it wouldn’t surprise any fan that it’s a norm when Taylor officiates Chelsea games.

Chelsea have received 17 more bookings than any other big six club when refereed by Taylor, with the Manchester-born referee dishing out a whopping 87 yellow cards to Chelsea in just 38 games.

Liverpool have 70 yellow cards under Taylor despite playing more games (45 games).
