Just in: Deadline set for Chelsea to register Incoming player to play in the Super Cup final
Chelsea are close to confirming the signing of Romelu Lukaku, who is a medical and an official announcement away from re-joining The Blues.
Lukaku had a tough first spell at the club, a spell that ended with him missing a decisive penalty in the Super Cup final.
Now, on Wednesday, Chelsea play in the final of the same competition, and Lukaku could well be involved.
This is according to Football London, who say that if Chelsea can get this over the line, Lukaku’s debut is ‘likely’ to come against Villarreal in the Super Cup final this Wednesday.
However, Chelsea do need to get him signed on and registered by 11pm this Tuesday evening UK time.
It certainly has a nostalgic feeling of being written in the stars for Lukaku to have his debut game back at Chelsea and scoring the winner in the Super Cup final to see us lift another trophy!
