REPORT: Thiago Silva block from playing for Chelsea by Brazil FA after latest decision

According latest reports, Chelsea defender Thiago Silva has been block by Brazil’s FA from featuring in the Premier League this weekend.

However, The Brazilian Football Association has asked FIFA to block some of their national team players from featuring in the Premier League this weekend.

Premier League clubs had agreed to prevent their players from travelling for matches which would be held in countries that are on the UK’s red list due to coronvirus.

Any player who travelled to a red list country for the international games would be required to isolate for a 10-day period at a hotel once they returned to the UK, which meant they would miss at least two fixtures for their club.

Brazil’s FA has now made a move to ensure that the players who shunned the call ups would also miss the stipulated games for their clubs.

Five Premier League clubs Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea and Leeds United have all been affected by this latest move. The players have been told by FIFA that a five-day restriction is in place for the Brazilian players who failed to honour the call-up.

This now means that Thiago Silva will miss the game against Aston Villa this weekend and also the Champions League clash against Zenit St Petersburg.
