‘Make me a millionaire ROM!’: Zlatan finally reveals how he helped Lukaku to improve

The two were together at Manchester United for a bit and Zlatan explains how he helped Lukaku’s game by luring him into a bet. Lukaku’s first touch has often been mocked as it was a major weakness in his game in his earlier days.

However, Zlatan Ibrahimovic is someone who loves to speak. The AC Milan striker is back at it and he has spoken extensively about Romelu Lukaku in his new autobiography, Adrenaline: My Untold Stories, set to release this summer.

“When I was injured at Manchester, I did not play and received 20% of my salary. I offered Lukaku to make a bet. We had breakfast before the match and I said, ‘Listen, Romelu. Give me 50 pounds for every bad touch you make. OK?’ Zlatan reveals.

“Lukaku replied: ‘And if I don’t make a mistake?’ – I said: ‘I promise you will get stronger. Come on, Rom, agree! Make me a millionaire!’ He laughed. He considered himself a high-level player, but every time he tried to stop the ball, he then had to run after it!

“I was confident that I would win this bet, but in this way I advised Romelu to work harder. I helped him. And he really grew as a player. Now he is much stronger than he was at Manchester.

“But in England he did not challenge me, and in Italy he immediately declared himself the new king of Milan. He needs to learn the law of the jungle. To become the new king, you need to kill the previous one.”
