“Not only Chelsea, these two teams deserve to be sanctioned” – Ralf Rangnick tells UK government after Roman Abramovich’s sanctions

The UK government on Thursday froze Roman Abramovich’s assets, due to his links to the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, after Russia invaded Ukraine earlier this month.

This means, the Blues are unable to sell any tickets or merchandise and cannot offer new contracts to players, they have also seen their bank accounts frozen as they now operate under a special license.

Now, according to Man Utd manager Ralf Rangnick has reacted to the sanctions placed on Chelsea owing to their link with Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich.

In his reaction, , in a statement with the media on Friday, claimed Arsenal should also be looked at as Russian oligarchs have owned shares in the Gunners and Everton too.

Rangnick said: “Not only at Chelsea, [but] also at Arsenal and Everton there were ownership shares by Russian oligarchs.

“This (Chelsea) was not the only club.”

We will have to wait to see if the UK government respond to Rangnick’s claim.
