REPORT: Marina ready to move for 51-capped Croatia international

According to reports, Chelsea are allegedly keeping an eye on Inter Milan midfielder Marcelo Brozovic and could make a swoop for the midfielder, according to a report.

Although Frank Lampard has several midfield variants to choose from, Brozovic could offer more dynamism compared to the players currently in the Chelsea squad.

As per an exclusive report by 90min.com, I Nerazzurri board are looking to provide manager Antonio Conte with some money to spend and could sell Brozovic to make way for new players.

Chelsea, who themselves have been mentioned with a move for West Ham United’s Declan Rice, have put Marcelo on their radar as he’d offer something different compared to Rice.

Considering Chelsea have spent a lot of money in bolstering their attack and the left-back position, this is one transfer that might depend on the club selling stars before they can buy one.

Chelsea got a lot of things right under manager Frank Lampard last season, but their defence was not one of them. The Blues were often undone by shaky and error-prone defending, and the absence of experience at the back was one of the reasons.

However, the defence didn’t have the best of protections from their versatile midfielders and hence struggled to stop attacks.

N’Golo Kante missed a lot of matches last season, and the team visibly struggled in his absence. The Croatian is not as defensive-minded as N’Golo, but he is a player who could fit in seamlessly in Frank’s set-up.
