Reports claim Marina will let out of favour star to leave club for just 9M

According to the Corriere Dello Sport, Chelsea will allow Emerson Palmieri to leave Stamford Bridge if a club offers €10m (£9m) for the Italian international.

The publication claims that Napoli have been working on a deal for a while but the Serie A side were only initially interested in signing the fullback on loan until the end of the season.

However, Chelsea are insisting on selling Emerson outright, or at least loaning him back with a purchase clause, and that means Napoli will have to sell someone in order to secure the defender’s signature.

The Italian was signed by the Blues from Roma for an initial €20m, with €9m in add-ons, almost three years ago during Antonio Conte’s final season in charge, and it appears the London club are willing to take a significant loss by offloading him in the January transfer window.

Whether other clubs will enter the race for Emerson, it remains to be seen. Conte’s current team Inter Milan have also been mentioned as potential suitors and they could rival Napoli for the left-back.
