REVEALED: Why Coutinho may not play for Bayern Munich again but for Chelsea

Chelsea target Phillipe Coutinho has had a torrid time since leaving Liverpool for Barcelona in January 2018.

The Brazilian failed to impress with the Spanish giants, and his loan spell at Bayern has been far from impressive.

Chelsea are among the clubs to have been linked with a move for the former Liverpool star, and a return to the Premier League is believed to be of major interest for Coutinho.

Coutinho’s loan spell at Bayern might not be over, but it seems that he has played his last game for the Bavarians. An ankle injury may well deny Coutinho the chance to feature in any of Bayern’s remaining fixtures in Germany’s top flight this season.

Coutinho is believed to be two weeks away from making himself available for selection, however, Bayern manager Hans-Dieter Flick might not want to turn to the creative midfielder, knowing he won’t be staying beyond the summer.

With 31 appearances in all competitions for Bayern this term, Coutinho has bagged nine goals in the process, but his performances have not convinced the club to take him full-time.

Barcelona are keen to sell the Brazilian, but his high transfer fee which Barca want to try and recoup as much as possible, coupled with the current £250,000-a-week contract wages, remain a hindrance for interested clubs.
