Romano confirms Chelsea’s plans for 24-year-old top Bundesliga star as new arrival makes “strong impression” at Chelsea

According to reports, The striker Christopher Nkunku of RB Leipzig has been linked to a transfer to Chelsea.

The striker wasn’t for sale despite the Blues’ inquiries during the summer.

Now, According to Fabrizio Romano, a transfer specialist, Chelsea will make a move again in the coming summer. There may be some interest from other rival clubs, though.

“There will be many clubs in the race for Christopher Nkunku next summer, including Chelsea as they’ve always been interested and attentive to his growth,” Fabrizio Romano said.

The France international is  highly rated, and he is being linked to a number of top clubs across Europe – like Real Madrid, PSG and Bayern Munich.

This season, the 24-year-old has already registered six goals in his first 11 games for RB Leipzig.

New arrival makes “strong impression” at Chelsea

Chelsea has been a club in upheaval like no other in recent times.

From a change in owner to a change in manager, medical staff and a slew of executives, there have been changes in personnel from top to bottom.

Marina Granovskaia and Petr Cech, the effective sporting directors of the old system, were among the first to go, and have yet to be replaced. The club muddled through this summer, but clearly more direction is needed in the scouting department.

Perhaps that explains the arrival of Kyle Macaulay, who joined as a recruitment analyst from Brighton in a package deal with Graham Potter.

The Guardian’s piece today on the search for a new sporting director claims that Macauley has made a “strong impression on staff at Chelsea.”

Let’s hope that’s a positive impression… The scouting we’ve done in recent years has been up and down to say the least, and some new insight on that front could make a huge difference.
