‘Score more goals’ possible £120 million Chelsea signing has been told

According to latest reports, Graeme Souness has picked out one area Declan Rice must improve – but it shouldn’t worry Chelsea.

Over the past couple of seasons, Rice has developed into one of the very best stars of the Premier League and his performances has also led to reports that this could be his last season at the Hammers

The likes of Manchester City and Chelsea have joined Man United in the chase to sign Declan Rice in the summer, even though David Moyes has suggested that the Hammers will not accept anything less than £100 million for the player

However, it has been claimed 23-year-old Rice has put talks over his future at West Ham on hold until the summer, as The England star is said to be keen to assess his options come the end of the campaign.

West Ham are not willing to let Declan Rice leave on the cheap and have now stuck a massive £120 million price tag on the head of their star midfielder.

Rice’s current deal runs out in the summer of 2024, but the Londoners have the option to extend for a further year.

Key figures in the Chelsea boardroom have long-since been interested in the West Ham midfielder, and Here is what Souness had to say about him on punditry duties for Sky Sports;

‘I’d want more goals from him. In the modern game with the way the pitches are, for central midfield players coming on to things they’ve got no excuses.

‘The ball’s running smoothly, it’s coming to you on a carpet – and he’s scored one goal this year, Declan Rice.’
