They made important mistake – Pundit claims Chelsea will regret selling £40m-rated player

As we all know Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel didn’t give Tammy Abraham much playing time last season, as he opted for the misfiring Timo Werner ahead of the Chelsea academy product.

However, Tammy Abraham was third choice striker under Tuchel despite playing a key role under Frank Lampard, and he was sold off during the summer transfer window to Roma.

While Tammy is doing well in Rome, Werner has looked lost at Chelsea this season. His confidence has dropped this season and his playing time has been limited following the signing of Romelu Lukaku.

BBC Sport pundit Garth Crooks has claimed that Chelsea may end up regretting the sale of Tammy Abraham to keep Werner.

“The Portugal defender was superb and looked like he was back to his best against Chelsea,” said Crooks about Dias.

“The Blues, on the other hand, may have made a rather important mistake by selling Tammy Abraham to Roma and retaining the services of Timo Werner.

“In the past I thought Werner might be the better option given the way Thomas Tuchel likes his teams to play but it would appear the German international suffers from acute stage fright and I don’t think anyone can help him.”
