“This is what happened”- Cesar Azpilicueta reveals what happened in dressing room after Lampard sacking

Chelsea skipper Cesar Azpilicueta has again moved to squash rumours of a dressing room unrest and a rift between him and Antonio Rudiger.

Having joined Tammy Abraham to debunk the news on social media, the 31-year-old has now spoken more about the issue.

The Chelsea captain had admitted that there’s pressure in the Chelsea dressing room but has called it a normal situation that happens in any working environment.

“We always work together. As other players, we [Azpilicueta and Rudiger] sometimes have our discussions, normal in football,” said Azpilicueta.

“When results are not going well, everybody has more tension around, but nothing further than this.

“Normal footballers like normal workers in their offices or with other jobs with pressure who have to deliver and nothing further than this. There is not an issue, we are so committed.

“There is no doubt about the unity of the group. Obviously, when things are not going well there are things that come out but we are strong altogether, experienced players, young players, you know.

“Now, for some, it’s the first time they live through a change of manager. When results come, everybody will get more positive and, hopefully, when we end the season with the targets, everybody will be happy.

“Everybody in the dressing-room, we are all together and we are fully committed at this stage and the dressing room is strong and together to fight for everything.”
