Tuchel set to stop £90m player’s move to Chelsea, as club chief confirms midfielder can join Chelsea for €40million
Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Jonas Hofmann this summer.
According to Borussia Monchengladbach chief Max Eberl, the Germany winger can leave this summer for €40million.
Eberl told BILD: “We live in a time when nothing can be ruled out.
“But we certainly don’t want to sell Jonas. If at some point a club says they are offering 40 million euros for Jonas, no club can say that I don’t care.”
Hofmann, 28, has a deal with Gladbach to 2023.
Tuchel set to stop Jadson Sancho move to Chelsea
According to Daily Express, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel isn’t convinced it makes sense to sign Jadon Sancho because of the quality the Blues have in attacking areas already.
Borussia Dortmund are willing to sell Sancho this summer but are reportedly demanding £89million for the England international.
Tuchel believes Chelsea are well-stocked in attack with Timo Werner, Kai Havertz, Mason Mount, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Hakim Ziyech.
Tuchel instead wants to concentrate on signing a striker this summer with the Blues struggling to convert chances into goals last season.
