‘What player! Kai Havertz becomes the first player to break Lionel Messi’s 2011 record
Chelsea star Kai Havertz scored the winning goal for Chelsea in extra time as the Blues beat Brazilian side Palmeiras 2-1 in the final of the Club World Cup on Saturday.
However, according to Opta, Kai Havertz is the first player to score the match-winning goal in the both the UEFA Champions League final and then the subsequent FIFA Club World Cup final since Lionel Messi for Barcelona in 2011.
Havertz scored the winner in the final of the Champions League as Chelsea beat Manchester City 1-0 to win the Champions League.
Meanwhile, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has now won three trophies since he replaced Frank Lampard as Chelsea boss last January.
The German tactician has won the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup.
